There’s no doubting that Nokia’s N86 8MP is one of Espoo’s hottest handsets this year. When it was touted at Mobile World Congress, Nokia showed off huge prints taken with the N86 8MP’s eponymous snapper. And there’s no denying the results were stunning and were equally as good when we took it out for a spin.

Aside from the capable camera, there’s a slew of features on the N86 to keep smartphone enthusiasts on side. That includes HSDPA, Bluetooth, Wi–Fi, A–GPS and Nokia N–Gage to boot. Entertainment junkies can also shovel on 8GB of tunes and vids, playing them back via the gorgeous 2.6–inch, 240 x 320 AMOLED screen. It may not be a beast, but it shows both pics and vids in stunning detail.
Nokia has taken an age to kick an 8 megapixel camera out of their Finnish doors. But the N86 8MP is finally here and looking to steal the camphone limelight from Sony Ericsson, LG and Samsung, just as they all line up their first 12 megapixel efforts. Counting megapixels, though, is a mugs game. So can the N86 8MP really deliver? Read on and find out in our in–depth review.

The N86’s camera comes with the aforementioned 8MP, alongside Carl Zeiss optics and a duel LED flash. The later caused disappointment among tech spec fiends when the N86 8MP was first outed, with punters complaining about the lack of a Xenon flash. While it is a miss, it does also mean that you can grab the N86 cheaper than most other 8MP phones and it holds up to a daily pounding better than a proper bulb. Plus it works just dandy in daylight, with our shots coming out crisp and clear.

While Nokia has come late to the 8 megapixel party, the N86 8MP is a worthy, killer effort which should garner a faithful following. It gives the Sony Ericsson C905 and the LG Viewty Smart a good run too, making it worth checking out if you’re after a top–end camera phone.
Nokia has also taken care of plenty of smaller details too, chucking in microUSB for universal charging, a now standard 3.5mm jack for hooking up your own buds and also a kickstand a la the old–school N96.

Details concerning the Nokia X9 specification are currently sparse but it’s thought to have HD video recording capability (720p) with a quad LED flash for night time recording. It would seem natural that the phone should have a HDMI output so you can watch your videos on your TV and that is also something that’s been suggested.

We have to say the Nokia X9 looks quite stylish with the screen taking the main focus of the phones design and the stylish white back giving it a modern appearance.
The Nokia X9 seems like a premium mobile, above even that of the Nokia X6 and we look forward to hearing more about it.

A capacitive touch-screen is rumoured to be present on the Nokia X9 and it will no doubt run at a high-resolution for viewing multimedia in all its glory.

Has finally been officially presented one of the most anticipated phones from Nokia, since despite not being the most powerful company really is the first to provide capacitive screen.
The Nokia X6, which is the name of this terminal is a model aimed at young audiences, it equips virtually all the social elements we see in the last terminal presented at the MWC 2010.

It has a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics (high quality) and dual LED flash. The screen of Nokia X6, as we said, is the first capacitive including the Finnish company in a terminal. In particular is 3.2 inches.
Here you can customize many elements as thumbnails of contacts with direct access to their profiles: email, calls, social networking updates … or have music playlists.

Among the services and features offered by Nokia X6, find the recording and playback, TV output, games, social networking, widgets and free GPS navigation data Maps.Otros Ovi Nokia X6 interest were resolution of 640 x 360 pixels, video editing software and wireless connectivity (pity that at this point we do not find support for 3G).

The price of Nokia X6 stands at 359 euros, but we can get it cheaper as Vodafone or Movistar offers it under some kind of plan.

Its here the Nokia X6 has been launched by Vodafone UK and comes preloaded with series 3 of Gavin and Stacey. Thanks to the folks over at marketwatch.com we have more information and details for you.
Nokia X6 also has the third series of Gavin and Stacey pre loaded onto the handset exclusively for Vodafone UK customers. It has a fabulous 5 megapixel camera which produces high quality pictures thanks to the Carl Zeiss lens.

This simple, smart and most enjoyable phone has a big bright 3.2 inch touchscreen that is great for those of you that enjoy playing games, browsing the internet and also viewing multimedia content.
Nokia has big hopes for the X6 – the first in its new X Series line and there’s no question it’s aimed squarely at the same piece of smartphone real estate currently dominated by the iPhone. Its high-end looks, 3.5in capacitive touchscreen display, 32GB of storage and Comes With Music integration make all the right noises, as does a video-capable 5MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash. But only time will tell whether there’s enough bite to go with that bark.

As we reported earlier, the Finnish phone-monger has had to delay its N900 – also due to land tomorrow – by a week because of lack of stock, but it has officially green-lighted the X6 to make its much-anticipated debut.
It’s also a bit of a looker, with a slim, curved-edge profile and a glossy 16:9 touchscreen that dominates the front of the device. The on-board autofocus camera features Carl Zeiss optics and a dual LED flash, and you can record and edit video too.
Nokia claims the battery is good for 35 straight hours of music playback, or eight hours of talktime.

The Skype for Symbian app lets you make free calls to other Skype users anywhere in the world, and super cheap calls to landlines or mobiles, locally and internationally. This all happens over the internet, bypassing the mobile networks entirely. The app is available on Nokia’s Ovi Store now, and will support Symbian smartphones made by Sony Ericsson soon.
It’s also an instant messaging program, so you can share pictures, videos and other files for free. Go over a Wi-Fi connection and you’ll skip any pesky data charges too – particularly useful when roaming.
Now it’s free calls via Skype, first it was free sat-nav. Not content with giving the finger to sat-nav manufacturers, Nokia is aiming an inflammatory digit at mobile operators with the announcement of Skype for its smartphones.

Shaw stressed that Skype on the Nokia N900 was the benchmark example of what Skype can do on mobile, but that his company was “working closely with Nokia to really integrate a Skype experience… There are a few other devices on the joint road map that we’re working on where Skype will be properly integrated.”

Nokia have recently officially announced their C5 smartphone, this handset has a relatively small form factor, whilst still offering some half decent specs at a pretty decent price.

Spec wise the handset features a 2.2 inch display which supports a resolution of 320×240, it also features a 3.2 megapixel camera, a 3.5mm headset jack and a wide-range of connectivity options.
The handset itself is just 12.3 x 46 x 112 mm, it weighs just 89.3 grams and has a stainless steel body.

The Nokia C5 super slim Symbian S60 phone has just been announced by Nokia. Those spyshots we saw last month were bang on cue: it’s a teeny candybar phone with a svelte shell, but much more power than any Series 40 phones from Espoo, and a serious social networking twist.
Although we don’t know about connectivity for the Nokia C5 (It’s still unclear if Wi-Fi is onboard), it will run the new Ovi Maps with free navigation out of the box, so it is has GPS, and on the media front, there’s a microSD slot, 3.5mm audio port for your own headphones and an FM radio.
Nokia is also touting the social networking skills of the Nokia C5, with Facebook statuses of your mates now appearing by their name in the phone book.

Nokia has added a text panel to its official blog with a teaser about CeBIT. At the top they write, “C you at CeBIT” (a play on the new C-Series), and down further they mention that the C-Series was rumored during the Mobile World Congress (MWC). It’s not crystal clear, to be sure, but it does seem like they’re hinting at something.

That’s a big part of Nokia’s business, though. It is one of the leaders in entry-level handsets across the globe. Regardless, we are sure to see some nice expensive devices as well. Nokia unveiled Symbian 3 at the MWC so we are eagerly awaiting to see some phones that will use that new platform.

Nokia is giving major hints on its official blog that its newest line of mobile phones (the C-Series) will be unveiled at this week’s CeBIT show in Germany.
Nokia has announced the Nokia C series category for new smartphones launching. The first phone in the Cseries category is the Nokia C5 we just reported on.

Each of the series represents a different “type” of phone. The new Nseries will be classed as Nokia’s flagship phones that will contain all the advanced features. Xseries will represent social entertainment. Eseries focusses on productivity and business (similar to blackberry style devices) and the Cseries represents the “core range of products” in Nokia’s words.

Free unlimited music for more than a year seemed like a good proposition, but, nine months after its launch, Nokia’s Comes With Music bundle is not proving particularly popular with consumers.

In July, the scheme had just 107,227 users across the nine countries in which it’s launched, according to figures Nokia sent out to labels and distributors, obtained by MusicAlly.

By comparison, PaidContent mentions that Spotify has 6 million users. As of May, Pandora claimed to have 4 million iPhone listeners. Sirius XM Radio (SIRI) quickly got 1 million downloads for its music app (although it’s not clear how many of those pay the monthly fee).

The granddaddy of them all, the iTunes Store, has sold more than 6 billion songs, even if most of them (so far) are only for use on PCs.

Even the official blog on which Nokia is celebrating CWM’s first birthday acknowledges: “Sure, it didn’t start out that rosy, with lots of folk not really certain about what Comes With Music offered … we never shied away from the important education process that is needed in order to fathom that you can download and forever-keep as many tracks as you like – but the past 365 days have seen a much greater understanding and appreciation for the service emerge.”

Nokia has placed a lot of importance, and a lot of marketing money, on Comes With Music. But the programme has been hampered by DRM and complex PC operation and confusing PC-mobile sync. And that advertising campaign has really failed to communicate exactly what CWM means.

DRM is dead, simplicity and ubiquity are in. It sounds like Comes With Music has a long way to go. Is the problem with the product concept? The execution? The business model?

Whatever the problem, it’s clear that the benefits of vertical integration (compared to all the point solution rivals) are minimal for Nokia. One could argue that vertical integration has paid off handsomely for Apple (AAPL), but for the past decade the company also had the best execution in the IT industry for product design and ease of use. The point products can’t copy Apple‘s vertical integration, but they can hope to copy (or surpass) its other advantages.

Nokia is a long way from winning awards for ease of use.

Nokia today announced the creation of the official Qt port to Maemo 5 and published an initial Technology Preview release. This port to Maemo 5 means that developers can now use Qt to target the upcoming N900 device and also ensures that applications can be easily ported to all Qt’s supported platforms including the next Maemo 6 release as well as Symbian and Windows Mobile.

“With this announcement and our upcoming port of Qt to the Symbian platform, we will quickly see Qt established as a leading framework for mobile application development. Developers will be able to use Qt as a framework to create powerful native applications and with Qt’s Webkit integration, it also provides them with a platform for creating web applications and services,” said Sebastian Nyström, Vice President of Application Services and Frameworks at Nokia. “Qt’s support for Maemo 5, Maemo 6, Symbian, as well as Windows Mobile makes Qt the most sensible choice for developers looking to target multiple devices and achieve the broadest reach with their innovations.”

The Qt port to Maemo 5 is designed specifically to work within the Maemo 5 environment, which will power the upcoming Nokia N900 device. The port itself will be based on Qt’s upcoming version 4.6 and is scheduled for final release in Q1 of 2010.

The community project provided a strong foundation for building the official port, and because of the open nature of the project, Nokia was able to base the official port on this code. The change from a community port to an official port was necessary to ensure that applications developed with Qt will be compatible with both future versions of Qt, future versions of Maemo, as well as Symbian and the other platforms Qt supports.

Developers looking to support the Qt port Maemo to Maemo 5 are encouraged to visit http://qt.gitorious.org and participate in its further development. Since May 2009, Nokia has received over 400 contributions into Qt and Qt-related projects, which has helped ensure that Qt remains a stable, robust framework for developers to innovate on.
