Some of the first shots of Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X3 have been released.Early shots of Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X3, codenamed Rachael, have been released. The X3, codenamed Rachael, is the company’s first Android based smartphone and is expected to lead the Xperia series, competing at the top of the market.

The screen is a 4-inch, 854×480 pixel number, and both Wi-Fi and GPS will be included.

It will be powered by Qualcomm’s rapid SnapDragon processor and will boast an 8-megapixel camera.

Despite no official word on price or availability, rumours suggest the initial prediction of an early 2010 release was wide of the mark with a late 2009 release more likely.
With up to 16GB of memory the X3 will be available in either black or white.

Yesterday we saw the first live picture of the phone and Ericsson tipped us off on a November announcement so it won’t be long before we know if this X10 name is legit or not. Personally I think it is silly to skip so far ahead for the purpose of marketing… you might as well call it the Xperia Infinity. And come to think of it… “Infinity” isn’t a half bad name. Until of course the “Infinity plus one” and “Infinity times infinity” phones come out.
